WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Keiser University women’s outdoor track and field team will travel to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, March 28, to compete at the outdoor meet hosted by Nova Southeastern University, looking to build on the early-season experience gained at the USF Alumni Invitational.

Camille Romero will be among those to watch for the Seahawks after posting a 2:18.84 in the 800m run in Tampa. The runner-up at this past winter’s Sun Conference Indoor Championships and a national qualifier at the NAIA Indoor Championships, Romero brings proven credentials to the outdoor season and will look to sharpen her time in the middle-distance events as the schedule picks up.

Romee Van Dam will be another key performer to monitor in the hurdle events. The school record-holder in the indoor 60m hurdles and NAIA Indoor qualifier posted a 14.42 in the 100m hurdles preliminaries at the USF meet, and will look to make a push for the top of the results sheet as she transitions fully into the outdoor season.

The women’s group will also look for a bounce-back effort from several athletes who were unable to complete their events in Tampa. Gema Del Valle, who did not finish in the 400m hurdles, and the 4×400 relay unit of Del Valle, Romero, Gracie Zacarias, and Jessica Dixon will look to get clean runs in Saturday and begin establishing outdoor momentum as a group.
