Golf legend Tiger Woods was released on bail late Friday night after being arrested on suspicion of DUI following a rollover crash in South Florida.Woods was uninjured in the crash, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the incident.The sheriff’s office said the crash happened around 2 p.m. Friday on the 2oo block of Beach Road on Jupiter Island when Woods struck the back of a trailer and rolled his Land Rover over. “As (the other vehicle) was trying to move to the side of the road, the Land Rover overtook him at the last minute, swerved to avoid a collision, but clipped the back end of the trailer of the pressure cleaner apparatus,” Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said during a news conference on Friday.The sheriff’s office said Woods, who lives near where the crash happened, exhibited signs of impairment at the scene.”They did several tests on him. Of course, he did explain the injuries and the surgeries that he had. He was booked into the Martin County Jail, where Budensiek said he has been treated like any other inmate, with some precautions.”We’re going to make sure he’s safe. We’re not going to put him in general population. He’s not going to be with other inmates that can hurt him or try to capitalize on what he did,” Budensiek said. “He’ll pay the price. But he’s not going to pay the price by getting punished in jail.”Budensiek said Florida law requires Woods to remain in jail for eight hours because of the DUI charge.Woods was released a little after 11 p.m. Friday night, according to sister station WPBF. He made his first appearance in over a year during Tuesday’s TGL finals, where his Jupiter Links GC team fell to the Los Angeles Golf Club.It was the third time Woods had been involved in a car crash, most recently in February 2021, when his SUV ran off a coastal road in Los Angeles, which led to multiple leg and ankle injuries. Woods said later, doctors considered amputation.He was also arrested on a DUI charge in 2017 when South Florida police found him asleep behind the wheel of his car that was parked awkwardly with damage to the driver’s side.
