TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A cold front will pass across the region tonight and bring cooler, breezier conditions for the weekend.
Tonight Through Saturday Night
The forecast is pretty quiet to end the work week. We are dry under a mostly clear sky for Friday evening, but clouds begin to increase for the overnight as a cold front approaches. Behind this front, the wind will pick up. Overnight lows settle in the upper-50s and low-60s.
A breezy start to the weekend is on tap. We could see some gusts up to 25 mph at times on Friday. A stray shower is possible, but most are dry. After a little sunshine in the morning, we are expecting clouds to increase for the late morning and moving into the afternoon. As a result, temperatures are cooler. We top out in the low-to-mid-70s.
Because of the dry air and gusty wind, we are tracking an elevated fire risk on Saturday. As a result, a Fire Weather Warning is in effect for a large chunk of the region from 11 a.m. through 8 p.m. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Quiet weather will continue for Saturday night. Overnight lows bottom out in the low-50s under a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Again, a breezy wind will continue.
Ending The Weekend
More of the same is ahead for the second half of the weekend. We are dry on Sunday under a partly sunny to mostly cloudy sky. Highs top out in the low-to-mid-70s, and lows bottom out in the mid-50s.
We should see a little more sunshine on Monday as highs reach the upper-70s. An isolated shower is possible to start the work week, but most of us are looking dry. Lows settle in the upper-50s.
Extended Forecast
Looking ahead, temperatures slowly climb as rain chances remain unimpressive.
Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday reach the low-80s under a mix of Sun and clouds.
A few showers are possible for the middle of the week, but meaningful rain chances are not looking likely.
Low temperatures hover in the upper-50s and low-60s.
