Two people are dead after a vehicle loses control and crashes into a house in Orange County on Saturday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A 2008 Honda Civic, driven by an unknown driver, was traveling southbound on South Hawthorne Ave. north of 13th St. at approximately 7:54 a.m., FHP said.  The driver was traveling above the posted speed limit and lost control of their vehicle.

As a result, the sedan ran off the roadway right and struck a utility pole, rotated, and collided with a house at the intersection of west Ella J Gilmore St., FHP said. This impact caused the vehicle to overturn and catch fire.

FHP said the home also caught fire, but the two occupants inside were not injured. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were pronounced dead on-scene.

This crash remains under investigation.
