March 28, 2026 – Guests aboard a Shell Key excursion boat saw, and photographed, an approximately 10-foot great white shark 25 to 75 yards off the beach Friday morning, according to Hubbard’s Marina boat captain Dylan Hubbard. The shark was trailing a school of tarpon, and disappeared after aboout 15 minutes. “To see an apex predator following the tarpon run is a powerful reminder of how healthy and diverse our local ecosystem is right now,” Hubbard said.
