A Deerfield Beach man was arrested early Saturday after fleeing from a traffic stop hours after a woman he lived with was wounded in a stabbing, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

Eric Senat, 34, was taken into custody shortly after he crashed his vehicle, according to a news release from the Broward Sheriff’s Office. In his car, deputies found a teenage girl who was also stabbed.

The wounded woman and the teen were both taken to hospitals for medical treatment.

After finding the woman with stab wounds at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday on the 4700 block of Northeast First Terrace, deputies began searching for Senat, the sheriff’s office news release stated. A deputy who spotted Senat’s vehicle at East Copans Road and North Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach attempted to make a traffic stop, but Senat kept driving until he crashed his vehicle into a fence and ran.

Senat was taken into custody by deputies shortly after, then taken to a hospital.

No further information on Senat’s charges or his relationship to the teen victim was released by the sheriff’s office.

Broward County detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
