2027 four-star edge Jabarrius Garror has been a top priority for Florida State since they extended an offer in January of 2024. That continued even after he committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide that July, as they hosted him four times in 2025.
Garror also visited FSU for their Junior Day in January. However, something has changed since then. Garror made himself an even hotter commodity earlier this month when he decommitted from Alabama, giving Florida State an even greater shot at landing his commitment.

Over the weekend, Garror was back on campus again for FSU’s Legacy Weekend, and his reason was very straightforward.
“Same reason as always, I love Florida State and the coaches. Great environment,” Garror told Noles247. “That is the reason.”
As the 2026 season approaches, it will be a huge one for FSU as they look to get back to national prominence. It will also be monumental for edge coach Nick Williams, who is entering his first season on the staff.
Williams has a reputation for being a great recruiter and someone who can develop talent, as he most recently got Fadil Diggs drafted in the seventh round of the 2025 after working with him at Syracuse. Garror has bonded with Williams since he’s been at Florida State, and that continued on this trip.

“He’s an overall great person. Just spending time with him, it is just mind-blowing honestly. It’s not even nothing specific that I can say, it’s just everything. The way he moves. How he works. It is just everything he does. He is just a great person and a great coach,” Garror said.
Now that Garror’s recruitment is open again, schools are turning up the heat in their efforts to land him. FSU just might have taken over the top spot after this weekend.
“I think it’s a good balance between all schools, but Florida State is kind of leading for me right now,” Garror said. “It is still a nice balance between everybody, but Florida State, they are just making a great push and they are leading honestly.”
The 6-foot-2.5, 215-pounder has official visits locked in with Auburn (May 29), Texas A&M (June 5), and Texas (June 12). After he left Tallahassee, Garror mentioned that Florida State will get one as well.

“If I’m not mistaken, it is June 19th, I think,” Garror said.
It was a dominant junior season for Garror. He produced 106 tackles, with 32.5 being for a loss. Garror would also rack up 21 sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. For his play, Garror was named a MaxPreps Junior All-American.
Garror is the No. 106 player nationally and the country’s No. 12 edge per the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also the No. 4 prospect in the state of Alabama.
