THINGS CAN GET PRETTY HECTIC, ESPECIALLY WITH MARINER, MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS JUST UP THE ROAD. >> BUT YOU CAN SEE THIS FOUR-WAY INTERSECTION HAS NO TRAFFIC SIGNALS MAKING IT DANGEROUS. >> AND CAUSING CRASHES LIKE THIS ONE HAPPENING THIS MORNING. >> YEAH, I SEE ACCIDENTS. ICY. JUST PEOPLE RUNNING THROUGH IT WITHOUT ANY DISREGARD A TRAFFIC LIGHT WILL ABSOLUTELY HELP FOR SURE. THE CITY SAYS THE INTERSECTION HAS BECOME BUSIER OVER TIME AND A SIGNAL COULD HELP IMPROVE BOTH SAFETY. >> AND TRAFFIC FLOW. THE PROJECT COMES WITH A PRICE TAG OF ABOUT 1.8 MILLION DOLLARS, INCLUDING EXTRA FUNDS. SET ASIDE FOR ANY UNEXPECTED COSTS ALONG THE WAY. THEY’RE ALSO PLANNING TO USE OUTSIDE EXPERTS TO MAKE SURE THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION MEETS SAFETY STANDARDS.
