A made-for television series about a Miami reporter’s investigation and Jeffrey Epstein’s deal-of-a-lifetime is in the works.
Sony Pictures Television’s limited series is based on the book “Perversion of Justice: The Jeffrey Epstein Story” by award winning Miami Herald journalist Julie K Brown.
Laura Dern is expected to star as Brown whose three-year investigation helped uncover evidence that Epstein had sexually coerced and abused 80 young women, some as young as 13 leading to his re-arrest in 2019.
“This is what happens when a reporter refuses to give up on a story,” The Columbia Journalism Review wrote on Twitter following Epstein’s arrest.Â
Her 2018 book also led to the resignation of President Trump’s United States Secretary of Labor in 2019. She exposed the secret deal that then-US Attorney Alex Acosta had brokered allowing Epstein to plead guilty to two state-level prostitution offenses in 2008 for which he spent very little waking time in jail.
