TAMPA, FL — A man was arrested Friday for multiple off-campus assaults of a University of South Florida student, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Ashtin Andreasen, 21, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, four counts of battery by strangulation, three counts of battery, two counts of false imprisonment and tampering with a witness.

Deputies didn’t say whether Andreasen was also a USF student.

On Thursday, detectives responded to USF’s Tampa campus after a student reported being strangled, battered and threatened with a knife by the suspect during multiple incidents over several days at an off-campus location, HCSO said.

Detectives learned that Andreasen also had an active warrant issued by USF police for strangulation and false imprisonment involving the same victim.
