LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Authorities are searching for a University of Nebraska-Lincoln student who went missing in early March.
The Lincoln Police Department confirmed Tuesday that a missing-person report was filed for 29-year-old Pawan Gaire and that an investigation is underway.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol’s website, Gaire was reported missing March 11. His vehicle was later located in Florida.
Gaire is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, with black hair and eyes. He may be in need of medical attention, according to NSP.
A friend of Gaire shared a timeline with 10/11, including that Gaire had abdominal surgery in late February.
On March 1, Gaire reportedly told his landlord he would return to his apartment in two weeks.
Gaire’s vehicle was spotted in Tennessee on March 3 and then near Milton, Florida, on March 11. That same day, he called his parents in Nepal from outside to let them know he was doing well.
On March 16, the Lincoln Police Department opened a missing-person case after Gaire missed an appointment with an advisor and never returned home. Authorities searched his apartment on March 24 but found nothing of interest.
On March 27, his car was found abandoned on Pensacola Beach in Florida. Since then, local authorities have searched the area, including the water, but have not found any leads, according to the friend’s timeline.
