LARGO, Fla. — A man is being charged with DUI manslaughter after Largo police say he was the driver in a crash that killed his 18-year-old passenger.

Officers say this happened Sunday when police responded to a crash on 58th Street North where 21-year-old Arael Vaquero was driving at a high rate of speed.

LPD says Vaquero crashed into two objects, causing the death of David Salazar-Castillo.

Vaquero was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries.

After further investigating, police believe Vaquero was impaired while driving.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing.
