NEW ORLEANS, La. (March 31, 2026) – The South Florida men’s track and field team is ranked No. 20 in the first USTFCCCA National TFRI rankings of the outdoor season, the organization announced on Tuesday.
South Florida is ranked ahead of many Power 4 programs, including Michigan State, Florida, Arizona State, Clemson, NC State, Auburn, and Iowa.
Kelsey Singleton, Nathan Metelus, Joshua Crum, and Alexavier Monfries rank second in the nation in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:05.60 at the USF Alumni Invitational. Shomari Pettigrew, Jaleel Croal, Nathan Metelus, and Cayden Broadnax posted a 4x100m relay time of 39.66 at the USF Alumni Invitational, ranking 14th in the country.
Jaleel Croal ranks third in the country in the 100m with a time of 10.14 at the USF Alumni Invitational. Nathan Metelus posted a 200m time of 20.64 at the USF Alumni Invitational, ranking 13th in the nation.
Karim Belmahdi ranks 13th nationally in the 800m with a time of 1:48.78 at the USF Alumni Invitational.
Will “Jaiden” Smith (13.95) and Darian Mills (13.99) rank 22nd and 26th in the country in the 110m hurdles, respectively.

South Florida will travel to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the Florida Relays, hosted by the University of Florida, on April 3–4.

Erik Jenkins is in his seventh season as the USF head coach. The South Florida men’s track and field team has won five straight American Conference championships. The Bulls’ 4x400m relay squad— Devontie Archer, Alexavier Monfries, Corey Ottey and Gabriel Moronta — claimed a national title with a program-record time of 3:00.42 at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships, earning a top-15 finish as a team. This past season, nine Bulls athletes earned All-America honors, including Kobe Babin, Devontie Archer, Alexavier Monfries, Corey Ottey, Gabriel Moronta, Shomari Pettigrew, Jaleel Croal, Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, and Vincent Ugwoke.
