Police have arrested a Jacksonville man in a series of burglaries that began in January and included break-ins at three businesses in one morning this week.
Miles D. Pelehowski, 29, who is listed as homeless, is facing seven counts of burglary and one charge of criminal damaging, according to Jacksonville Police Commander of Investigations Kyle Chumley.
He was arrested late Wednesday, according to a police report.
Police were able to use witness information and video surveillance to arrest Pelehowski in burglaries that took place Wednesday morning at Professional Estate Buyers at 201 W. Morgan St., Soap Co. Coffee House at 207 S. Sandy St., and Charlie’s at 115 W. Lafayette Ave. He was also arrested in others since March 26 in the 200 block of West Morgan Street, the 200 block of South Mauvaisterre Street and the 1300 block of West Walnut Street.
Detectives talking to Pelehowski connected him to a Jan. 13 burglary in the 300 block of West State Street as well, according to a police report.
Pelehowski was being held Thursday in the Morgan County jail pending a pre-trial detention hearing.
