TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – In the past day, a fire burned part of an apartment building and nine hours later, a separate fire engulfed a mobile home, according to the Tallahassee Fire Department.
According to the department, firefighters responded to a reported fire at Inverness II Apartments on Ocala Road at about 3:36 p.m. on April 1.
When firefighters arrived, a unit on the second story of the building was in flames.
“Firefighters entered the involved unit and brought the fire under control, while additional crews conducted searches throughout the building,” TFD said.

TFD said there were no occupants in the building and no injuries.
One dog was found deceased inside the residence.
The department said the fire didn’t spread beyond the original unit and was successfully contained.
Later that day, at about 12:02 a.m. TFD responded to another fire at a mobile home located at Pond Pine Street. The mobile home was reportedly “fully involved in fire.”
Firefighters began extinguishing the fire, searched the building, and found no occupants at the time of the fire, according to the fire department.
The cause of both fires is currently being investigated.
