The April 15, 2026 income tax filing deadline is fast approaching.

Key Biscayne small business owners, who are stressed because they have yet to file, can get help.

From noon until 1 p.m., on Wednesday, April 8, the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the SBA South Florida District Office, is inviting Key Biscayne business owners to participate in a virtual tax tips and tricks session.

The secession is called: Navigating Filing Season 2026: Guidance for Small Businesses.

Participants will learn about filing season updates, free tax preparation options, overview of key refundable tax credits and choosing a tax preparer.

With new programs offered by the IRS, small business owners will also learn IRS online tools, accounts and payment options and tips to protect their businesses from identity theft.

There will be a question and answer session during the presentation.

At the start of tax season in January, the IRS announced several temporary provisions enacted last summer that can after liabilities and refunds for millions of taxpayers and business owners.

For some who are eligible, the new rules increase deductions and reduce taxable income, and for others, navigating revised forms and program availability creates added friction.

President Trump’s the One, Big Beautiful Bill Act introduced multiple temporary tax provisions that start affecting returns filed in 2026 for the 2025 tax year.

The most consequential items involve new deductions for seniors and certain wage types, adjustments to the state-and-local tax cap and updated standard deduction amounts.
