The Jacksonville Jaguars will need to play in Orlando for a season because renovations to their “Stadium of the Future” in Jacksonville will make it inaccessible for use in the 2027 season. They are already in the renovation process as the stadium will have a reduced capacity for the 2026 season.

The NFL approved the temporary move unanimously at the annual league meetings in March.

How many games will the Jaguars play in Orlando?

The Jaguars are slated to have 10 home games in the 2027 season, nine regular season games with one preseason contest.

However, it’s expected that the team will play at least one game in London as part of the league’s annual international games schedule. It’s possible for the team to play multiple games in London during the 2027 season as they’ll do this season and did during the 2023 and 2024 season.

As the league expands their international schedule, it’s also possible for the Jaguars to host an international “home” game in a different country other than the United Kingdom. The league has games scheduled in Spain, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Australia and France during the 2026 season.

What’s the latest on EverBank Stadium renovations?

EverBank Stadium is already undergoing major renovations. The stadium will have a reduced capacity during the 2026 season, dropping from a max capacity of more than 67,000 to 42,507.

As of late February, the stadium construction was about 15% complete and they were on track for completion ahead of the 2028 season.

What has the Jaguars’ brass said about Orlando?

It has been all positives from the leadership of the Jaguars. Team president Mark Lamping spoke at the rally in Orlando earlier this week and gave remarks about what makes Orlando a good landing spot.

“We are fortunate to have found a temporary home, that is in close proximity to Jacksonville, an NFL-ready stadium, a strong NFL market,” he began. “That is also one of the world’s top leisure destinations and community and political leaders that understand the power of the NFL, and the positive impact that it can have on the community and its residents.”

What has Orlando said?

Orlando seems to be excited for the opportunity to add the NFL to their long list of tourist attractions. The city is investing $400 million into Camping World Stadium to modernize it and provide a comparable NFL experience to fans.

“I guarantee you we’ll be here in full force for the Jags, just like we are for our bowl games and the Florida Classic. We also know that sporting events drive economic growth by bringing even more visitors. And I am so proud of our community the way we come together. City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said. “We are noted for partnership and collaboration. That’s in our DNA. Now I feel like we’re partners with the Jags, partners with Jacksonville as we go through this endeavor.”

According to Lamping, season ticket holders will get first dibs at securing tickets during the 2027 season before it’s opened to the general public.

“In short order, we will be announcing a way for individuals to register interest in tickets. Now, a lot of that’s probably going to come here from Central Florida, not necessarily from Jacksonville and we’ll go from there,” Lamping said.

Will the Jaguars be in Orlando full time?

No, this is only for home games. During the week the team will continue to work out of the Miller Electric Center and their business center at the newly opened One Tower Court.
