A South Florida rapper known as “Walking Bankroll” is facing federal charges for allegedly orchestrating a multi-million-dollar tax fraud scheme involving hundreds of fraudulent filings.
According to a criminal complaint filed in the Southern District of Florida, David Edmond is accused of submitting false claims to the Internal Revenue Service and participating in a scheme that resulted in approximately 446 fraudulent tax returns, collectively seeking about $7.9 million in refunds.
Investigators say Edmond used an online database service to obtain personally identifiable information, including Social Security numbers, which was then used to file false federal income tax returns. Authorities allege he created and operated multiple email accounts and sub-accounts to carry out the scheme and submit the fraudulent filings.
The complaint details how records, including IP addresses, phone numbers and email accounts, link Edmond directly to the activity. Evidence was also recovered from cellphones in his possession, which allegedly contained images of identification documents and other personal data.
Authorities said Edmond was arrested on March 31, 2026, at Opa-locka Airport as he attempted to board an international flight.
At the time of his arrest, agents reported he had approximately $7,650 in cash and what appeared to be expensive jewelry.
Edmond is charged with making false claims against the United States. The investigation remains ongoing.
