TITUSVILLE, Fla. – Officials in Titusville are asking residents to stay off of the roads as Sunday’s heavy rains have caused flooding throughout the city.
The Titusville Fire Department posted on social media saying in part, “By now you have reviewed multiple weather alerts for flash flooding and significant weather in or area. Without overstating the obvious, we have taken several inches of rain in a very short period of time. PLEASE STAY OFF THE ROADS”
Officials said they have received a number of calls for “people stuck” and flooded roads.

News 6 meteorologist David Nazario rainfall said rain totals from Sunday morning through the evening show parts of Brevard County receiving close to 11 inches of rain.

In addition, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Northwestern Brevard County until 10 p.m. saying that some locations that will experience flash flooding include Titusville, Rockledge, Cocoa, Port Saint John, Sharpes, Titusville Airport, Merritt Island, Canaveral Groves, Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge, Bellwood and Canaveral Acres.
