The Ohio State Highway Patrol says that one person is dead and another is seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash occurred in Clermont County on Saturday evening.According to OSHP, the crash occurred at approximately 7:43 p.m. near the 1300 block of US Route 50 in Miami Township.Police say that their preliminary investigation suggests that the crash occurred after a 2013 GMC Yukon being driven by a 47-year-old woman veered off the left side of the roadway while traveling eastbound on US Route 50.The vehicle then went on to strike both a utility pole and a tree that were present just off the side of the road.The passenger of the vehicle, 40-year-old Kristin Houser of Blanchester, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.Meanwhile, the driver was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries.The crash remains under investigation by authorities.The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Miami Township Police Department, Miami Township Fire & EMS, and the Clermont County Coroner’s Office.
