Students at Mater Kiwanis Academy experienced an inspiring morning of creativity and self-expression during the special workshop, “You Are the Poster Artist,” led by Maria Fernanda Vogel, the official Carnaval Miami Poster Artist for 2026.
The event brought together young students and representatives from the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana for a meaningful experience that celebrated art, imagination, and the power of creative expression.
Throughout the workshop, students learned the fundamentals of creating balanced and impactful artwork while being encouraged to explore their own ideas and artistic voices. With guidance from Vogel, the children enthusiastically created their own posters, filling the classroom with color, excitement, and pride in their creations.
The event also welcomed Fabiana Petruzzi, Miss Carnaval Miami 2026, who joined the students and shared in the excitement of the creative activity, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and believe in their potential.
For many students, the experience was more than an art lesson — it was an opportunity to feel seen, inspired, and empowered to imagine a future full of possibilities.
“My hope is that the students who attend feel honored, seen, and inspired to imagine a future where anything is possible for them,” Vogel said. “Through this workshop, I want them to understand that their creativity and their voices matter.”
Thomas Falcón, president of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, highlighted the importance of inspiring the next generation through initiatives like this.
“It is truly special to see the joy and creativity of these students as they explore their artistic talents,” Falcón said. “Moments like this remind us why our organization is committed to investing in young people and creating opportunities that inspire them to dream big and believe in their potential.”
Eileen Hernandez, principal of Mater Kiwanis Academy, emphasized the importance of providing students with experiences that nurture creativity and confidence.
