Museum of Graffiti’s Private Gallery in Wynwood will keep its doors open late during April’s Wynwood Art Walk to host famed artist Sandro “SEN2” Figueroa who grew up in Santurce, Puerto Rico, before moving to New York City in the 1980s during the golden age of graffiti. It was there that he made his mark with intricate wildstyle pieces on subway trains and throughout streets.
On Apr. 11, from 7 to 9 p.m., The Private Gallery will unveil a body of new works that demonstrate how SEN2 brought graffiti into the fine art world, blurring the lines between the two. His color palette ranges from striking grayscale works to paintings bursting with bright, glossy color. Each piece incorporates elements of graffiti, paying homage to his roots while showcasing his ever-evolving and refined artistic identity.
Guests will enjoy a complimentary screen printing experience combining SEN2’s art with Levi’s Trucker Jackets, available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. This activity echoes the longstanding tradition of graffiti artists customizing their own jackets as wearable expressions of identity and rebellion.
Levi’s has been an unwavering supporter of the museum since its opening day in 2019.
This event and other ongoing initiatives continue that tradition into 2026, helping shape artist experiences and celebrating wearable expressions of identity and rebellion.
Private Gallery, located in the heart of Wynwood at 2521 NW Third Avenue, is an ultra contemporary exhibition space dedicated to artists working at the intersection of imagination, urban culture, and new material expression. Originally founded as a curatorial extension of the Museum of Graffiti, Private Gallery continues to support artists whose work redefines the boundaries between art, design, and community.
Sandro Figeroa, known artistically as “Sen2,” was raised in Canteras, a neighborhood in Santurce, Puerto Rico. He began cultivating his passion for urban art in New York City during the early 1980s. By 1986, his creative vision had expanded significantly, leading him to produce both graffiti murals and commercial artwork.
It was during this formative period that he became a member of the world-renowned graffiti collective in New York City, Tats Cru — widely regarded as one of the most influential graffiti crews in history. With Tats Cru, Sen2 traveled extensively across Europe and other parts of the globe. By 2018 Sandro was commissioned to paint eight tennis courts in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the US open, followed by an iconic project for Real Madrid whereby his artwork was featured on the official futbol jerseys.
As of late he is known for his epic collaborations with the New York Mets, Corona Beer, Royal Caribbean cruise ships, Adidas, and the Black Eyed Peas. One of his more distinguishing accomplishments is his inclusion in the permanent art collection of the Harlem offices of former U.S. President Bill Clinton.
