FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (CBS12) — A convicted felon is back behind bars after police used video to track him down following a deadly Fort Pierce shooting early Saturday morning.

Officers with the Fort Pierce Police Department say they responded to the 1600 block of North 12th Street for reports of a shooting at 4:15 a.m., according to previous reports.

Upon arrival, police found a man with multiple gunshot wounds dead at the scene.

An investigation revealed that the suspect, 28-year-old Jamario Bernard Dijuan Dunn, allegedly approached the victim, shot and killed him.

“Through investigative efforts, including surveillance footage and cooperation from area residents, detectives were able to locate the suspect vehicle and determine that Dunn was in possession of it at the time of the shooting,” FPPD said in a statement.

Detectives say they located Dunn shortly thereafter and brought him in for questioning.

Dunn was subsequently booked on counts of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, per police.
