Walk to End Alzheimer’s organizers have partnered with the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce for a kickoff event at the end of April.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is an annual fundraising event in which the money raised goes toward organizations researching Alzheimer’s.
The kickoff will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. April 30 at The Hangout Bar & Grill, 901 W. Superior Ave. It’s free and people will have the chance to meet local supporters and to socialize.
“Bringing people together is how we build momentum,” said Todd Lamison, senior development manager for the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois chapter. “This is a fun, easy way for local businesses and community leaders to connect, enjoy a great evening, and be part of a united effort to take on a disease that touches so many families.”
The Jacksonville Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be Sept. 27.
