OXFORD, Ohio – Coming off a loss to the Ohio University Bobcats yesterday in the first game of the midweek series, the Miami University RedHawks took on a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon and split their series, losing the first game 13-8 and winning the second contest 8-5. 

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1)


Kicking off scoring in the top of the first with bases loaded, the Bobcats hit a grand slam, putting them on the board 4-0.
Getting the RedHawks on the board 4-1 in the bottom of the second, Bailey Manos singled, and Mckenna Campbell scored from third base. 
Taking the lead 6-4 in the bottom of the third, Danitza Hernandez singled, and Katy Olive scored. Kari Krueger then singled and advanced to second on a fielding error, and Mia Estrello scored from second, and Hernandez scored from first, unearned. Evey Dieudonne then hit a two-run home run with Krueger on third. 
The Bobcats regained the lead, 7-6, in the top of the fourth. They doubled with bases loaded, and all three runners scored.
Making it a tied game in the bottom of the same inning, Manos homered for the RedHawks.
Taking the lead again in the bottom of the sixth at 8-7, Manos hit a sacrifice fly to allow Jeneva Mitchell to score as a pinch runner. 
Taking the lead 13-8, the Bobcats singled with bases loaded and allowed a runner to score. With the bases loaded again, the batter walked, and the runner on third scored, unearned. They then doubled, and two runners scored. They doubled once again, bringing in two more runners. 

NOTES


Bailey Manos went 3-for-4 at the plate, hit a home run and was credited with three RBI.
Kari Krueger went 2-for-4 at the plate with one run and was credited with one RBI. 

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2)


Getting on the board 1-0 in the top of the first, the Bobcats doubled, and a runner scored from second base.
Taking the lead 3-1 in the bottom of the same inning, Campbell hit a three-run home run with Manos and Mia Estrello on base. 
Making it a tied game in the top of the third, the Bobcats scored once on an error and again on a groundout, both unearned. 
Taking an 8-3 lead in the bottom of the sixth, Dieudonne walked with the bases loaded, allowing Hernandez to score. Leila Mathis then doubled and allowed both Mitchell, as a pinch runner, and Dieudonne to score. Manos then doubled and allowed Ella Carter and Mathis to score for the Red and White. 
Tightening the gap in the top of the seventh, the Bobcats scored two runs off of a double to center field. 
The RedHawks won 8-5. 

NOTES


Mckenna Campbell went 3-for-3 at the plate and was credited with three RBI.
Presley Hosick pitched a complete game, allowing only three earned runs.
