MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) — Authorities are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the location of a suspected murder victim’s remains.

According to FBI Miami, Ana Maria Henao Knezevic, a 40-year-old naturalized American originally from Colombia, was last seen on surveillance footage entering her apartment building in Madrid, Spain, at approximately 1:42 p.m., on Feb. 2, 2024.

Later that day, authorities said Knezevic had a video conference call at 7 p.m., and sent her last text message to friends at approximately 10:01 p.m.

At approximately 9:27 p.m., a man was seen on surveillance footage entering her apartment building wearing a motorcycle helmet and a reflective vest.

Authorities said Knezevich rented a dark blue 2019 Peugeot 308 with tinted rear windows to drive from Serbia to Spain. He drove from Serbia through Croatia, France, and Italy, until his final destination of Madrid, Spain.

Knezevich allegedly stole multiple license plates to conceal his movements. He travelled back to Serbia through the same countries, during which law enforcement believes he disposed of Knezevic’s body.

According to authorities, Knezevich died by suicide died by suicide during the course of the investigation.

Law enforcement did not find the victim’s distinctive necklace or journal in her apartment, but believes they may be recognizable to someone who saw them.
