ST. LUCIE COUNTY – St. Lucie County Commissioners are looking for civic-minded residents to serve on several boards and committees. The county is currently seeking volunteers on the following boards/committees:
• Affordable Housing Advisory Committee
• Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Committee
• Contractors Licensing Board
• One Consumer Representative to represent the interests of the public in contractor-related matters.
If vacancies occur (due to resignation, death or removal), the appointed member serves the remainder of the unexpired term.
• One AC or Mechanical Contractor; Must hold a current and active state-certified or state-registered license in the relevant contracting field. Must hold an active county certificate of competency if holding a state-registered license.
• One Plumbing Contractor; Must hold a current and active state-certified or state-registered license in the relevant contracting field; Must hold an active county certificate of competency if holding a state-registered license.
• Early Learning Coalition
• Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee
• Historical Commission
• Housing Finance Authority
• Homeless Advisory Committee
• One law enforcement representative
• One faith-based representative
• One person with lived experience
• Investment Committee
• Library Advisory Board
• Treasure Coast Education Research and Development Authority
Some boards/committees may require specific qualifications or prior experience, but for all boards/committees, the minimum requirements are:
• Must be a St. Lucie County resident;
• Must not be related to another committee member, County Commissioner or county employee involved with the committee of interest;
• Must not be employed by the same business entity as other committee members;
• Must not serve on more than two county committees (does not apply to Ad Hoc Committees).
Applications are due no later than Friday, Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. to be considered for any available vacancies.
