The Sanctuary Golf Club Foundation awarded a $250,000 grant to the Children’s Education Center of the Islands (CECI). The funding will support construction of a new building, which will be named Foundation Hall in honor of foundation’s commitment. In 2022, Hurricane Ian destroyed one of CECI’s two buildings, impacting the number of children that the school is able to enroll. The loss created a need to rebuild and restore access to high-quality early education on the islands. The new building will allow CECI to increase enrollment capacity, reintroduce its 18-month old program, and serve more families in the Sanibel and Captiva communities.
