TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A new candidate has filed for Florida’s second congressional seat, according to a press release.
Brice Barnes, a Tallahassee mom, is throwing her hat in the ring for Neal Dunn’s seat.
Whether I’m at my kids’ practices or on a parent text chain, the conversation is always the same. Our dollars aren’t stretching as far as they once did. From the rising cost of groceries and gas to the skyrocketing price of insurance and healthcare, the pressure on working households is real. Washington is full of people who talk, but North Florida deserves a leader who actually knows how to get things done.
Democratic candidates in the race include Yen Bailey, Amanda Marie Green and Nic Zateslo.
As of Thursday afternoon, seven republicans have filed for the seat.

Barnes said she has been a lifelong advocate for families and recently served as President and Board Chair of Independence Landing, an affordable Housing community for people with disabilities.
The local mother said the second district seat is a major opportunity to build “the kind of leadership that prioritizes North Florida families over Washington politics.”
