TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – FSU’s High Flying Circus is back with its annual spring performance series.
The spring showcase is two years in the making, with “Tall Tales” as this year’s theme. It highlights the larger-than-life stories people tell about the circus while showcasing Florida’s flora and fauna in the costumes and acts.
This is the first big spring production under the new big top tent, which was installed last year after the previous one was destroyed in a tornado two years ago.

The Director of the circus, Chad Mathews, said it’s a sigh of relief to be back up and running for this year’s show.
“This is where we live and work, basically, and we obviously have an emotional tie to it as well. So, on many different levels, it’s like, okay, we’re home again,” Mathews said.
Over 90 students are part of this year’s production, performing and behind the scenes.

Circus performer and graduate student Lexy Glors said it’s her sixth and last year with the circus. She was proud of the students and staff for their resilience in putting on this year’s showcase.
“So proud and so grateful for everyone and all they have done to make it happen. Because it was really, it was really difficult, so I’m glad that it’s all back and it’s beautiful,” Glor said.
The spring showcase continues to run this weekend and next weekend.
