A man was hospitalized early Saturday morning after being shot in the leg during a domestic argument on Jacksonville’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said officers responded to the 1900 block of 13th Street West in reference to the shooting around 3 a.m. When they arrived, officers found the man, who is in his late 30s, shot in his left leg. JSO said the injury is non-life-threatening.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the man and suspect were inside a home when they began arguing and shots were fired, according to investigators.

“The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation,” JSO Sgt. Smith said. “All parties are detained and with police at this time. Both parties are known to each other and are involved in a domestic relationship. This appears to be an isolated incident without further threat to the community.”
