October 27, 2025 – According to a prepared statement from Lakeland-based Publix Super Markets, Inc., the fire-damaged St. Pete Beach grocery (4655 Gulf Blvd.) will be rebuilt as a two-level store, with covered parking on the lower level. Sections of Dolphin Village Shopping Center were devastated by fire in May; the 1960s-era Publix suffered extensive damage and has remained closed.
