FORT PIERCE – A Fort Pierce man who allegedly fired six shots into the air was arrested by St. Lucie County Sheriff’s deputies on Oct. 26, according to sheriff’s office reports.

At about 1:38 a.m., deputies responded to the 200 block of East St. Lucie Boulevard in response to reports of six shots heard in the area.

Upon arrival, deputies found Anthony Fernandes Cunha, 31, of Fort Pierce outside the home. Deputies observed an AR-15 pistol leaning against the side of the house and found several spent shell casings of varying calibers nearby.

Deputies recovered and seized three firearms – an AR-15 pistol; 9mm handgun; and a shotgun.

Cunha was taken into custody and charged with Cunha was taken into custody and charged with discharging a firearm in public or on residential property; use of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol; disorderly intoxication – causing a public disturbance; corruption by threat against a public servant or family member; escape or attempted escape by a prisoner.

As of Oct. 27, he was being held in the St. Lucie County Jail on a $21,500 bond.
