Universal is moving closer to a possible nighttime show, as the company recently posted job openings for fireworks technicians.
Additional Show Operator Job Listing
At the end of March, we noticed two new job postings from Universal for Lead Technician and a Tech II position, both specifically for Epic Universe. This, coupled with other developments around the new park, suggests Universal is inching closer and closer to debuting new fireworks and possibly other pyro elements to the nightly Epic Universe entertainment.
More recently, we’ve discovered another listing for Epic Universe, this time for a Tech III position, or in more detail, Show Operator (Pyro / Fireworks).
The listing details the role as follows:
Provides the discipline specific technical skills needed to support the daily operation of the assigned entertainment venue and/or event, including the handling and operation of high-risk pyro/fireworks and pyrotechnic systems. Ensures technical show quality and a positive guest experience by applying intermediate level knowledge of pyro elements. Ensure proper completion of tasks and all UO and NFPA policies, procedures and regulations are followed.
Back in June 2025, Universal stated that they were “still looking into” fireworks. In December, the company filed a trademark application for the name “Universal Celestial Goodnight,” along with a new logo, seen below.
The application states the name and logo are for “Amusement park services; Entertainment services in the nature of an amusement park show.”
Universal has made no official announcement to date; however, with the range of job postings currently listed, it does seem like we are getting closer to a fireworks show for Epic Universe.
