ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A search is underway after authorities said a man disappeared in the water near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
Around 2 p.m., a spokesperson for the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the agency was actively searching for the man after he went into the water and did not resurface.
The sheriff’s office did not say what led up to the man’s disappearance.
Multiple agencies are assisting with the search.
