A 30-year-old Jacksonville man was killed in a head-on crash in Alachua County late Saturday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP did not release the man’s identity. The agency said that around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, the man was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of State Road 24 when his vehicle crashed head-on with a pickup truck.
After the collision, troopers said the man’s vehicle became engulfed in flames, while the pickup truck involved overturned.
The man was pronounced dead on scene, FHP said. The driver of the pickup truck, a 21-year-old Middleburg man, and his two passengers — another 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman — suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to FHP.
