PALM CITY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Palm Beach County taco restaurant announced on Monday its plans to open its first Martin County location later this summer.
PapiChulo Tacos, owned by Three Amigos Hospitality Group, is scheduled to open a Palm City restaurant in August 2026 at Treasure Isles Plaza along Southwest Mapp Road. The location will be adjacent to Shark Shack Sweets at the north end of the shopping center, which is undergoing redevelopment.
The opening marks the brand’s expansion into Martin County after operating restaurants in Palm Beach County. According to the company, the move reflects growing interest in northward expansion along Florida’s Treasure Coast.
Co-partner Angelo Abbenante said Palm City became a focus as the group evaluated new markets, while co-partner Scott Frielich cited the area’s population growth and dining demand as factors in the decision.
Plans for the Palm City site call for a 4,500-square-foot restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating for approximately 150 guests. About 3,000 square feet will be dedicated to interior dining, with the remaining space used for outdoor seating, including tables along Mapp Road and a covered bar area.

Interior design for the restaurant is being led by West Palm Beach–based Kat Solomon Interiors. According to renderings released by the company, the space will feature banquette seating, pendant lighting, and an open kitchen layout, along with artwork produced by a local artist, according to the news release.

PapiChulo Tacos will serve lunch, dinner, happy hour, and weekend brunch. The menu, developed by executive chef and co-owner Tim Nickey, includes tacos and Mexican-inspired dishes influenced by Southern California and Baja-style cooking.

Menu items listed by the company include birria tacos, street corn, nachos, yuca fries, and steak dishes, along with housemade tortilla chips and sauces prepared daily. The restaurant will also sell bottled hot sauces produced by the company. A full bar menu is planned, featuring cocktails, margaritas, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks. The restaurant is expected to offer daily happy hour specials, Taco Tuesday promotions, and weekend brunch service.
The restaurant’s name is derived from a Spanish slang term. Co-partner Cleve Mash said the name was selected during early planning for the concept and was considered recognizable and memorable.
The Palm City location is expected to operate daily, with later closing times on weekends. PapiChulo Tacos will be located at 2916 SW Mapp Road.
