ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A man is accused of breaking into a business and leaving behind a trail of blood on Monday morning.

According to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, at about 11:45 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a burglary at a business on Indrio Road. Upon arrival, deputies found a shattered window and a significant amount of blood inside.

Deputies investigated and identified the suspect as Brent Chapman, who was located in the area. Further investigation revealed Chapman’s alleged involvement, as deputies were able to link both him and his vehicle to the crime.

Chapman was taken into custody and faces charges of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and criminal mischief causing more than $200 but less than $1,000 in damage.
