One person was killed in a wrong-way crash that shut down Countyline Road in both directions early Monday, according to Miramar Police.
Police said that at some point during the overnight hours, they learned that Miami Gardens police had “come across a car accident at the 7000 block of Countyline Road with the driver still inside.”
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and pronounced that driver dead at the scene.
The second driver involved was rushed to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital.
Police said the crash involved a 2017 Honda Civic and a 2020 Tesla 3. The Honda was going the wrong way in the westbound lanes, which caused a head-on crash with the Tesla.
It was not immediately clear which driver survived. The identities of the drivers haven’t been released.
County Line Road is currently closed in both directions between the 6000 and 7400 blocks due to a traffic crash investigation.

After the crash, the Broward Sheriff’s Office flew over the scene searching for any additional victims or vehicle occupants, but none were found.
Video of the scene shows two vehicles on the roadway, one mangled and the other burnt and destroyed, in the eastbound and westbound lanes.
Authorities said the road would be closed between the 6000 and 7400 blocks while they investigate.
Drivers should take Miramar Parkway as an alternate route.
