MIAMI, Fla. (CBS12) — A trip to Walmart turned into a $25 million lottery win for a Miami man.

The Florida Lottery announced on Tuesday that Lincoln Diaz claimed a $25 million top prize from the $25,000,000 GOLD RUSH MULTIPLIER Scratch-Off game.

Diaz bought his winning ticket from the Walmart at 14720 S.W. 26th Street in Miami, according to lottery officials. With a 1-in-4.09 chance of winning a prize, the 68-year-old man turned $50 into $25 million.

Diaz chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $15.96 million from the Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee on January 12, according to the news release.

Overall, the Florida Lottery has generated more than $50 billion to support education and has helped send more than one million students to Florida’s colleges, universities, and technical schools through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
