PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A 16-year-old boy allegedly accidentally shot himself during a confrontation over an E-Bike, leading to his arrest and that of two accomplices in a chaotic scene that unfolded Monday night at a Port St. Lucie McDonald’s.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department said that officers responded to a reported shooting near the McDonald’s located at 3199 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd. at around 9:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers reported finding a 16-year-old boy, Jayden Williams, who had suffered two gunshot wounds in his right leg.

The report states that his injuries were non-life-threatening, and he was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Initially believed to be a victim, Williams was later identified as the shooter after an investigation revealed that he accidentally shot himself.

According to the report, the incident reportedly stemmed from an altercation involving multiple people at the McDonald’s.

Williams allegedly confronted a juvenile male riding an E-Bike, demanding the bike and addressing a girl not present at the scene, which escalated the situation.

Crime Scene Investigators processed the area, recovering a Smith & Wesson pistol along with two magazines. They also collected the suspects’ cell phones as evidence.

Following the investigation, three juveniles were arrested and charged:

Jayden Williams: Accused of robbery with a firearm, violation of probation, and possession of a firearm by a minor.Andre Reid: Accused of robbery with a firearm, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and tampering with evidence.Ed Cesar: Accused of tampering with evidence.

All suspects are currently detained at the St. Lucie County Jail and/or the Department of Juvenile Justice.
