SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – One person died after a railroad incident involving a pedestrian and a train Tuesday in Charlotte County.
Charlotte County Fire & EMS said crews responded at 12:03 p.m. to the area of Acline Road and Tamiami Trail. First responders found one person dead at the scene.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office temporarily closed nearby roads during the response. The sheriff’s office is leading the investigation.
Punta Gorda Fire Department assisted through mutual aid.
