• I often say you can’t argue with success, but at the Enzian Theater for the Florida Film Festival, the parking lot was completely full when we arrived. I and several other drivers drove around the parking lot fruitlessly looking for a space and figured out too late that there was overflow parking across the street. They should either have valet parking where they could make even more money or have an attendant in the parking lot telling attendees where to park. Or, at least have sufficient directional signage and advise people to show up well before show time.
• I’m ticked off at the NBA. Not only are games priced ridiculously to attend, but now to watch the Play-In Tournament, you have to have Amazon Prime. I’m so disappointed.
• I am ticked off that I spent too many hours watching the Masters golf tournament. The golfers were exceptional, truly “masters” of their chosen profession. But why, oh why, do people pay good money to sit along a fairway and watch golf balls fly by? And why do some spectators find it necessary to reach across a rope line with arms extended hoping that Rory McIlroy will high-five them? Do they think his magic will improve their swing or short game?
The flip side
• It has been fun watching UCF Knights football and I love being an alum. Thanks to coach Scott Frost for coaching a second time for an even more exciting season.
