Record Store Day makes its triumphant return on Saturday, April 18. The “holiday” was created in 2008 as a means to celebrate independent record stores. For vinylphiles, it has become bigger than Christmas as all kinds of exclusive albums are printed exclusively for this day. This year some of the Record Store Day exclusives include lots of live records from everyone from Pink Floyd to the Pixies to Wolf Alice. There’s also singles by Taylor Swift, Charli xcx, and Pink Pantheress. Most experimental might be Sonic Youth‘s Diamond Seas described as “32 live performances of Sonic Youth’s ‘The Diamond Sea’ plunderphoniclly orchestrated by John Oswald”.
South Florida has plenty of places where you can celebrate Record Store Day. Here’s how and where you can get in line bright and early to enjoy the miracle of sound played on a modulated spiral groove.
Endo Records & Music
Hop down to Kendall from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Endo Records new location for a musical shopping experience. Those waiting in line will be serenaded by live acoustic performances, inside live DJ’s will be spinning all day. Lucky Records
Doors open at 8 a.m. at the Wynwood shop. The proceedings have strict rules of first come, first serve with no pre-orders, no holds, and one copy per title per person. Giveaways include 100 tote bags and posters by @mike2600 along with free doughnuts supplied by Voodoo Doughnuts. Sweat Records
The Little Haiti mainstay promises that 2026 will be their biggest record store day ever. They’ll be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. soundtracked with vinyl DJ sets all day from Moonbeam Mike, Pressure Point , MLE, DJ Babyface Blitz, Laszlo, and Gabberina. Next door at Churchill’s will have live jazz from 12-2 performed by Diego Melgar Trio along with indie vendors. Technique Records
Technique Records is making a full day out of it, open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. They’ll have hundreds of exclusives including by the Cure, Olivia Dean and Blur. DJ sets will be played by John Stanier, STRYKE, Kumi, Arri Purri and many more. There will be a full bar along with food and drinks provided by Turntable Bagel, Ripe, and Dre’s Drip. Yesterday & Today Records
Miami’s longest continuously operating record shop will open at 9 am serving free drinks with special sales throughout the day.
