ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg police are currently piecing together the details of a double shooting that happened late Wednesday night. The incident, which occurred just before midnight, drew a heavy law enforcement presence to the 800 block of 14th Avenue South.

Officers arriving at the outdoor scene discovered two adult victims. Investigators confirmed that one man died from his injuries at the location. A second man sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is currently undergoing medical treatment.

As of early Thursday morning, no information regarding a suspect or a motive has been released, and it remains unclear if any arrests have been made.

The St. Petersburg Police Department stated that detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the violence. Officials noted that additional details are expected to be made public later this morning as the investigation progresses.
