St. Pete police are investigating a shooting at a Mobil Gas Station

The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating an incident that left one person shot and another injured.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a reported shooting in the parking lot of the Mobil gas station at 1750 34th St. N.

Investigators said Anthony Oliver, 40, and DeAndre Randolph, 28, became involved in a verbal argument that escalated when Randolph struck Oliver over the head with a cinder block. Oliver then pulled a firearm and fired at Randolph.

Both men were injured, though police said the injuries were not life-threatening. They were transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital for treatment.

Randolph was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Oliver was also arrested and faces charges of felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation remains ongoing.
