Port St. Lucie backyard blaze displaces resident after RV, shed, and home burn

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A backyard blaze in Port St. Lucie engulfed an RV, shed, and part of a home, leaving one resident displaced as investigators work to find the cause.

Firefighters with the St. Lucie County Fire District say they were called to reports of a backyard fire in Port St. Lucie.

Upon arrival, crews say they found an RV, a shed, and the home all involved in the blaze, requiring additional crews.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire in the home confined to the attic, though smoke was reported throughout the residence.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office, per SLCFD.

The resident displaced by the fire is reportedly receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
