A fresh dining location has opened in Cape Coral, Florida. The Salad King works with SWFL Produce to stock its kitchen with farm-fresh goods. Since its start in October 2025, the spot aims to link Southwest Florida’s growers with local tables.

“Any farm that we can keep open here, that’s what we are trying to advocate towards,” said Elizabeth Etnoyer, owner of SWFL Produce, according to Fox 4.

As a middleman, SWFL Produce links growers to food sellers. They pick up fresh crops from farms across the area. Sunswell Greens, a Punta Gorda farm, sends lettuce to The Salad King’s kitchen.

“They pick it on a Thursday, and we get it on a Friday morning,” said Keith Brochu, who runs The Salad King with his team. Fresh greens move from field to plate in just days.

The spot puts money back into local hands. “I would rather spend our money here in town than shooting out to elsewhere where it doesn’t help the community,” Brochu said.

Their work cuts out steps between farms and plates. SWFL Produce picks the best crops at just the right time. “We find the stuff that’s the best in season and bring it to you,” Etnoyer said.

After just weeks in business, plans are brewing for more locations across the area. The quick growth shows strong local support.

Based in Cape Coral, The Salad King shifts its menu with the seasons. Most items come straight from nearby fields, bringing Southwest Florida’s harvest to local tables.
