WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — Pasco County officials say one person was killed after a plane crashed in the 25000 block of Aldus Drive in Wesley Chapel.

They said a fire caused by the crash has been put out, but at least one residence in the subdivision was damaged. The National Transportation Safety Board identified the plane involved in the crash as a twin-engine Cessna.

According to information from the Federal Aviation Administration, the pilot was the only person on board the plane when it crashed at about 8:35 a.m. 

Officials did not say if the person killed in the crash was the pilot or someone on the ground.

The FAA and NTSB will be handling the investigation.

No other information on the crash was immediately released.
