Two Amtrak trains are returning to their origin points after a large brush fire closed the tracks in Central Florida on Monday morning. “Auto Trains 52 and 53 which departed Sanford (SFA)/Lorton (LOR) on 4/19, are canceled,” Amtrak said on X. “Customers will be returned back to their points or origins. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.”The 1,000-acre fire is in Putnam County and is 5% contained as of 11 a.m. Monday. It’s been named the Railroad Complex Fire. Crews are working to get the train back on the move as quickly as possible to return to Miami, Fla. Customers onboard have been provided snack packs, beverages, and food from the lounge car and when the train arrives in Orlando, passengers will be served pizza. Customers traveling on this train will also receive full refunds and Amtrak travel vouchers. On the fire’s northern side in Clay County, the fire has been named the Crews Road Fire, and is 1,700 acres with 0% containment.In total, about 2,700 acres have burned along the eastern border of Putnam and Clay counties. The Railroad Complex Fire is on the south side of a larger fire, the Florida Forest Service said.

On the fire’s northern side in Clay County, the fire has been named the Crews Road Fire, and is 1,700 acres with 0% containment.

In total, about 2,700 acres have burned along the eastern border of Putnam and Clay counties.
